COVID-19 Info

At this time, all non-essential travel should be avoided. This includes travel into and out of B.C. and between regions of the province.

Like you, we’re passionate about exploring BC and our region. But now is the time for us to stay local and support local businesses with just your immediate household or core bubble (for those who live alone). Let’s each do our part now, so we can explore BC again, soon.

  • Plan to make SMART decisions:
    • S – Stay home or self-quarantine if you are not feeling well.
    • M – Measure your physical distancing (6 ft from anyone outside of your household)
    • A – Appropriate behaviour is essential. Take responsibility for your actions. Wash your hands frequently, cough into your sleeve, wear a mask in ALL indoor public spaces.
    • R – Respect others and protocols. Accept that there are new ways of doing businesses and participating in activities which are all put in place to keep us ALL safe. Be kind, do not judge and do not discriminate.
    • T – Together we will beat COVID-19 through SMART decisions

While in Rossland:

  • Please adhere to physical distancing (6 feet) between anyone outside of your household.  This is important indoors and outdoors including on trails and in parks.
  • Wear a mask in all indoor spaces (restaurants, shops, grocery stores etc).
  • No social gatherings of any size at your residence or accommodations with anyone other than your household
  • Wash your hands frequently.
  • Be kind, respectful and have patience with others.  Please read and adhere to signage. We are all in this together and our community and businesses are working under specific guidelines and very unique circumstances to ensure your safety while providing a quality experience and product.
  • COVID-19 safety guidelines have reduced the number of customers businesses can cater to at any given time. Many businesses have times when they are busier vs less busy within a given day or day of the week. Consider calling ahead to confirm the best times so you may be serviced more quickly.
  • Contact restaurants and stores to check on current hours and how busy they may be. Most offer take-out, delivery and/or pick-up services.
  • Help keep our first responders safe and hospitals able to handle all needs by playing safe and staying within your limits as you explore and partake in adventures in our amazing area.
  • Keep your dog on leash throughout town, on community trails and in local parks.

Latest Developments:

To focus efforts on containment of COVID-19 in British Columbia, provincial health officials have implemented the following measures:

  • At this time, all non-essential travel should be avoided. This includes travel into and out of B.C. and between regions of the province. For example:
    • Do not travel for a vacation
    • Do not travel to visit friends or family outside of your household or core bubble
  • Masks must be worn in all indoor spaces
  • No social gatherings of any size at your residence with anyone other than your household or core bubble
  • All events and community-based gatherings as defined in the PHO order – Gatherings and Events (PDF) are suspended.
  • Everyone should be practising social distancing.
  • Movie theatres can continue to operate as long as they have a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place. These plans include measures like physical distancing, small numbers of seats, cleaning protocols and mask wearing
  • The order does not restrict services provided in the home. These services can continue to operate.
  • The only change for restaurants, pubs and bars is you must wear a mask when not at a table and events are no longer allowed.
  • Businesses, recreation centres or other organizations that organize or operate high risk indoor group physical activities must suspend the following activities:
    • Spin classes
    • Hot yoga
    • High intensity interval training (HIIT)
  • Canada/US border is closed to all non-essential travel.
  • Spokane Ski Bus Shuttle is unavailable for the remainder of the season.
  • Air operators have been formally mandated to prevent any travellers with symptoms to board an aircraft to Canada.
  • Canadians are to avoid all non-essential travel outside Canada, including to the US. Anyone who chooses to travel outside Canada must stay away from work or school for 14 days on their return. Read the Official Global Travel Advisory here(link is external).
